meet kerri wilcoxen, dvm.

Kerri has always been passionate about pets and their well-being. In fact, it's what drove her to pursue a career focused on small animal health and wellness. She has extensive experience as a veterinarian at an animal wellness clinic in Central Illinois and through her work with the ASPCA National Animal Poison Control. So pet parents, you are in good hands! When you contact the Freely Nutrition Center, you can feel confident you'll get the best advice for your pet.

Kerri's education is as valuable as her hands-on experience. She's got:
  • B.S. from Millikin University with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry
  • DVM from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine

Kerri's experience and education in animal health plus her love for rescues has fully equipped her to be an advocate for all pets, no matter the breed, age, or size.

Kerri has always had a place in her heart, and her home, for rescues. She loves being able to provide a nurturing environment and joyful moments to animals that might not have those opportunities otherwise. She and her family share their life with Frankie, a rambunctious lab-mix, Katie, a trailblazing chihuahua mix, and their newest addition, Sebastian, a spunky kitten.

what’s nutrition mean to you?

"You really are what you eat! I consider food to be such an important building block of a pet’s health. Feeding high-quality food that’s appropriate for your pet is one of the best steps you can take to ensure your pet has a long, healthy life."

What advice do you have for pet parents?

"Pet food can be so confusing. I hope pet parents will reach out to us for guidance, whether through the great resources on our website or with a call or chat. We want to help make it simple and we are here to help!"
